In 2009 I visited Muhu for the first time. Since then I started going there every summer. For me, that ancient ash tree was a landmark that I visited every time I was on the island. At the end of 2014, the tree fell over. |

CLEARCUTTING. PART 2 2015 2:23 min I used the motif of a clearcutting, through which I referred to my ever-renewing, yet seemingly unchanged nature, which, despite damage and partial destruction, is reborn and developed again and again on the fertile ground of old decay. An inner urge to try to break my own ingrained patterns of behavior and characteristics that disturbed me led me to the symbol of the clearcutting. I began to think about it in an irrational way and it became the central motif of my artistic position and self-developmentat for a while. Which characteristics am I ready to give up, cut down, decompose and which will constantly grow back like an annoying thicket. |
